These ducks have both supporters and critics.
For now they are having a great life at the college.

Today I rode through the car wash.  It has colored bubbles but you can't see them in these pictures.

I'm not sure what he was up to, but this man walked into the car wash while it was running.

Check out the penny for her thoughts and read Carly's thoughts on health care reform.
Be sure to visit Kat's blog for the wonderful bird photos she took at the beach.

I spent most my day in a meeting at the other campus location.

Carly took some photos of one of my favorite places in San Francisco, the Palace of Fine Arts.

I've been to the UPS store twice this week to send things to my son on the west coast.

In addition to shipping they provide mailboxes and printing.
Much to my surprise, they make canvas prints.

I made pasta salad.

 While the noodles were boiling

I washed and chopped Roma tomatoes.

For me, green onions are an important ingredient.

One large, hot, spicy garlic pickle goes in the mix

along with some green olives, a can of black olives, and a cup of Feta cheese.

I top all that with fresh ground black pepper and, in this case, Greek dressing.

 I think it is pretty.

I popped it all in the fridge to chill and let the flavors mingle for a while.
Delicious!

This is my attempt at a serious self-portrait for @seedsowers self-portrait challenge and Ellipsis' A photo a day for 6 months challenge.
.
I don't take many photos of myself, but when I read "serious" I knew I could pull off that look.  I think serious is just how I tend to look most the time.  lol

Funny thing is, I'm not very serious at all most the time.
Hope you don't mind the 'up the nose' point of view.

I went out to eat last night.

I went to the Marble City Grill.  It isn't my favorite place, but since the Pub closed it will do.
I had

MAYTAG CHIPS  $4.95
Home-made potato chips coated with Colby cheese sauce
and crumbled Bleu cheese

Carly posted a pretty moving water picture today.

I bought a book of stamps and was pleasantly surprised by the art.

Bonsai fascinates me. I tried my hand at it.
The results aren't amazing, but I like my tree.

Now go treat your eyes to Carly's roses
and
Kat's vintage home.

After work I went over to Christy's to lend a hand and have some fun.

We played and napped, played some more, ate a little dinner, then played some more.

At bed time, I laid down with Jesse and Christy went to her room to prop up her leg and try to get some sleep. She hurt her knee earlier in the day.

About 1 a.m. I woke up, eased out to the truck and came back to the house.

 Odd day

  An out of step,

off key,

disconnected kind of day.

I do enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Jesse enjoys making and watching videos on the iPhone.

A mother's love is precious.
I sure do miss mine.

No coffee for me.  I'll stick with soda tonight.

The Weogufka Singer/Songwriters put on a great show.
I always have fun at their performances.

Check out Kat's blackbirds.

Seems flowers are on the menu this week.  Just kidding.  Maybe there will be something different tomorrow.

This is one of the prettiest Rose of Sharron blossoms I've seen around here.

You've got to go check out this stork.

I went to Desoto Caverns Family Fun Park on Father's Day to treat myself to an ice cream cone, a strawberry cheesecake waffle cone to be exact.  Blue Bell ice cream is delicious.

While I was sitting in the shady gazebo enjoying my cone, I noticed this lovely hydrangea.

I was back at 318 Coffee & Bands.

The band was Damascus Road, a gospel rock group.

I took the pictures but neglected to take the time to post them.
I forgot creative work is the most important work.

After graduating from Georgia Tech, James was at the house for a couple of weeks while he was looking for a job .  He didn't have any trouble finding one and left a couple of days ago to begin his new job with Rdio.  I'm very proud of him!
Christy and Jesse came over to hang out with James before he left.  It was nice to have people in the house again.

I saw this in the store and just had to get a six pack.  I haven't had a Moosehead in a long, long time. Tasted good and brought back some fun memories.

APADF6: 35
A cool snake I saw in the pet store while I was shopping for a pooper scooper.

APADF6: 36
I stopped at the local McDonald's for a frappe.  I waited long enough to become bored and took this photo.  Then they asked me to drive up and they would bring it out.

Waiting.....

Waiting...........
Waiting.................

Waiting...........................

Waiting.......................................

Ten minutes later.......I enjoyed the first slurp.  lol   Delicious, but I won't wait like that again.

Nothing like a good road trip to reset one's point of view.

We had a great time in Tennessee and the drive home was pleasant in spite of the rain.

Jesse took full advantage of his time travel abilities.

Seems I heard him muttering something that sounded like,

The view from the backseat.

After breakfast for James at Shoney's and lunch for the four of us at Taco Bell, we visited The Museum of Science and Energy.

It is wonderful educational fun for kids of all ages.

This tall man was enjoying himself playing and taking pictures.

Christy refers to toys like this as "The Claw" and Jesse was having a great time maneuvering the mechanical arm/hand.

After a few hours of outstanding fun we returned to the motel for much needed naps.
